I have always been captivated by questions.

As a child, I was the one who spent a gift certificate on a research kit instead of another toy. I wanted to know how things worked, where they came from, what connected them, and what mysteries still remained. That curiosity has never left me. It has simply grown deeper.

I’m endlessly fascinated by nature, ancient civilizations, archaeology, architecture, mythology, symbolism, consciousness, and the enduring questions surrounding who we are, where we came from, and how we understand our place in the universe. I find equal wonder in discovery and creativity, as well as in the quieter mysteries of human experience—the dreams we remember, the meaningful “coincidences” we cannot quite explain, and the moments that seem to arrive with impeccable timing.

To me, life is both ordinary and extraordinary.

It’s found in ancient wisdom and morning birdsong, in breathtaking landscapes and everyday conversations, in moments of profound grief and unexpected joy. This beautiful planet is an endless library of life, filled with stories, waiting to be explored with curiosity, humility, and wonder.

That way of seeing the world naturally led me to writing.

Stories allow me to bring together ideas that might never meet anywhere else. They create space for curiosity, where different perspectives can exist side by side, where the familiar can be seen in an entirely new light, and where seemingly unrelated pieces come together to reveal something larger, much like alchemy. These spaces are where intuition and observation, history and possibility, mystery and everyday life can all sit at the same table, inviting us to look a little deeper.

Writing has always felt less like inventing and more like discovering.

Each story is an opportunity to explore what it means to be human—to wrestle with uncertainty, notice beauty, to follow curiosity wherever it leads, and to remain open to the possibility that there is always more to learn.

My hope isn’t simply to entertain, although I certainly hope you enjoy the journey. I believe books have a way of finding us when we’re ready for them. My hope is that, when the time is right, these stories find the people who need them most. Perhaps they’ll offer a new perspective, awaken a forgotten possibility, or simply remind someone that they are not alone in asking life’s bigger questions.

Sonya Julie is a Michigan-based author, entrepreneur, writer, and creative professional. She is the co-owner of Ann Charles Media, a boutique media company providing website development, content creation, communications, digital marketing, and project coordination for businesses, organizations, and creative clients.

Before becoming an entrepreneur, Sonya worked in corporate banking, finance, business administration, communications, and project management. Her professional background has given her extensive experience in strategic planning, financial organization, client relations, problem-solving, and moving complex projects from concept through completion.

Sonya has been writing and creating content for more than two decades. Her work has included nonfiction articles, long-form blog posts, website copy, marketing materials, social media content, business communications, and promotional campaigns. She has also developed and presented workshops on creativity, personal growth, goal setting, and related topics.

She is currently writing her debut novel, the first book in a planned series, while developing additional essays, creative projects, workshops, writer events, and future retreats. Her fiction draws upon her interests in nature, ancient history, architecture, symbolism, human experience, and the questions that shape how people understand themselves and the world around them.
